Setting your event up on Luma

Guests sign up for every Istanbul App Week event on Luma, on a page you own: the guest list, the approvals and the check-in stay yours. We read your page for the programme and promote it with the rest of the week. Fifteen minutes, four steps.

  1. Step 1

    Create the event on Luma

Sign in at lu.ma and hit Create Event. Whatever you put there is what our programme shows - we read your page rather than keep a second copy - so the date, the room and the words are yours to set and to change later.

    • Name it exactly as it is written above, marks and all.
    • In-person, with the venue's real address, and a capacity if you want one.
    • A cover image and a description are worth five minutes: they are the first thing a guest sees, here as well as there.
  2. Step 2

    Add support@neonapps.co as a host

On your event's manage page: Add Host, our address, turn on both Manager and Show on Event Page, then Invite Host. Manager lets us help with approvals and check people in on the night; showing us puts the week's name on your page, which is half of why a guest trusts it.

    • Manage event → Add Host → support@neonapps.co
    • Manager: on. Show on Event Page: on.
    • Invite Host.
  3. Step 3

Add the week's four registration questions

Manage event → Registration → Custom Questions. Every event in the week asks the same four, so the guest lists can be read together. They are written out below to copy; your own questions go after them.

    • All four Required.
    • Add them before you share the link - Luma never asks anyone who registered earlier.
  4. Step 4

    Send us the link

Paste your Luma URL into the box at the bottom of this page and save. That is when we read your event and put it on the programme, with a Register button that opens your page.

    • The link looks like lu.ma/your-event.
    • Change anything on Luma afterwards and we follow it - no need to tell us twice.

The four questions, to copy

Same wording at every event in the week. The second one is how we know which room we are in, so please keep all of its options rather than trimming it to your own crowd.

Questions that come up

Do our guests need an Istanbul App Week account?
No. There is no account on our site at all. They read the page, click Register, and sign up on your Luma event.
Can we cap the room or approve people one by one?
Both. Set Capacity for the cap, and turn on Require Approval to read each registration first. It is your list.
What if the day or the venue changes?
Change it on Luma. We read your page again and the programme follows - it should never disagree with yours.

Stuck on any of it? Write to support@neonapps.co and we will set the event up with you on a call.
